Is it too good to be true?

Sometimes in life we can get so caught up in every single thing we have to do. We get so focused on everything that people will see from the outside and focus on how we can shine those things up. We have problems and we try to fix them. We have issues and we try to sweep them under the rug. We have friends, but we keep them at arms length. We have co-workers and we keep our Jesus life separate. We have classmates who would never guess we go to church and consider ourselves Christians. We have Bible study friends who have no idea the sinful life we live on the weekends. We live lives that are contradictory to The Word. We live lives that are being lived to a man-made standard that is derived from magazine article, Pinterest accounts, and Instagram pictures. We are striving for perfection in our eyeliner and aren't even willing to forgive people and chip away at our hard hearts. We fully dive into anything our friends say is cool, but the last time we dove into God's word was....I'll let you answer that one for yourself.

My point is this WE CANNOT BE WHO GOD HAS CALLED US TO BE IF WE DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO THAT IS. You can't say you live a life for God if in fact you don't LIVE YOUR LIFE FOR GOD. You cannot claim you have faith and doubt everything you "believe". You cannot use God as a "life-line" or a "Get out of jail free card" and expect the fullness of a relationship with Him. You can't just praise Him with your hands and not praise Him with your life. We can no longer fake our way through life pretending we are "souled out" when in reality we have no real relationship with God other than the "Sunday school answers" we regurgitate every week to make ourselves look like we know God.

Do yourself a favor and open your Bible. All the truth you need is there. All the hope you need is there. All the revelation, guidance, truth, provision, and rest you need is there. God's word is enough. His promises are true and they're all there. His word is sharper than any twoedged sword. It will not return void. It is alive and it can change your life.

If you've been playing church it's time to stop. I pray God convicts your heart and reveals to you exactly what your relationship looks like with you and Him. Would you rather have the harsh reality that you in fact have no relationship now or at the end of your life when He says "depart from me I never knew you". If the extent of your righteousness looks like posting and quoting Biblical scriptures on social media it's time to stop. Get serious about getting to God. He's always ready for you. His ears are always listening. His arms are always open. It's never a bad time. He's never too busy. He's never going to stop loving you. He's always ready to pick up where you left off and wants more than 5 minutes. He wants it all.

This may come across harshly, but please know my heart is this; I want nothing more than for everyone to be fully surrendered to Christ. Because for me personally I know what peace, joy, love, goodness, provision, strength and wisdom feels like. And it's not of myself. If you know me you know I lack this all..it is not me! It's all from the Lord. In Him I am complete and He fights my battles and loves me with a faithful love I cannot begin to explain. But that comes when you set aside your wants and your plan for your life. If You say God is your Shepard .. are you allowing Him to lead? Because being a sheep means you make no choices for yourself. The Shepard simply shows you the way and you follow...You don't have to worry about what you'll eat or drink..the Shepard already knows where the nearest grassy field and stream is...He knows the way and it's alot easy to get there when you stay the path and stay close by. The Shepard loves his sheep and would do anything to keep them safe and on the right path.

But if you're not in love with the Lord and you don't know what it feels like to serve Him, follow Him, and keep His commandments I encourage you to find a Bible and open it! It really is as simple as that. The truth will set you free! Ask God to show you what He would and He will!

Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

If you're lacking faith you will find it in the scriptures. If you're lacking peace you'll find it there too. If you're lacking hope it's in there! If you want to see God's face...it's in there too! He will reveal Himself to you if you seek Him!

Don't fool yourself into believing "me and God are good" if you're not. God has already set a standard. He's already set a level of expectation on how we conduct ourselves, how we are to love, and how we are to serve. If you're not sure who God wants you to be just get in His word and He will show you. It's sounds too good to be true, but it's not. He's too good and that's the truth!
