I pray it rains so hard that you cannot see! - Life. Love. Jesus. Everything in between.

Today I was driving down the road into town when all of the sudden, as us Southerners say, the bottom fell out.

The crazy thing was that the sky was clear up ahead of me and the storm seemed to have come out of nowhere.

I told my kids to look around and see if they saw any storm clouds and they noticed them off in the distance to our left. It seemed that maybe we would outrun the storm because we were driving away from it, or so we thought.

We went into town and got what we needed and stayed dry. No rain.

Heading home the same thing happened again.

No sign of the source of the rain, but raining so hard I could barely see the road this time.

It came out of nowhere. It was raining so hard it was all I could do to see a couple feet in front of us and that line in the center of the road. I didn't see oncoming traffic until it was just a couple yards away. The kind of rain that I ran through the Winn-Dixie parking lot in the other day if you heard on Fix it, Jesus Friday LOL

It hit me like a ton of bricks.

Not the actual rain, but this thought.

Rain holds a biblical concept of blessings.

From the beginning of time people have cultivated and harvested crops, raised animals, and relied on water sources to survive. Agriculture of that time relied heavily on one thing and that was RAIN.

People prayed for rain.

When rain came it was always a blessing and a sign of God's favor.

Except that one time, Noah.

But, rain. Rain is a blessing still.

I pray that you would experience blessings like rain.

I pray that blessings chase you down.

I pray blessings come out of nowhere.

I pray that they surround you and block out everything else.

I pray that just when you think there's no way and no hope...the bottom falls out.

I pray blessings drench your family and your children and their children and every generation that comes behind you.

I pray that you stand in the blessings and soak them in.

I pray that the favor of the Lord is evident in every area of your life.

I pray that people see these blessings and desire to know the One whom they flow from.

I pray the blessing that we find in Numbers 6:24-26 over you..

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.”

These words give me chills.

God loves me this much. It's amazing and unimaginable.

We sang our hearts out last night at church to a song called The Blessing that is based on these scriptures. These words are so incredibly powerful and have me in tears when I read or sing them.
Make His face shine upon you
And be gracious to you
The Lord turn His
Face toward you
And give you peace
May His favor be upon you
And a thousand generations
Your family and your children
And their children, and their children
May His presence go before you
And behind you, and beside you
All around you, and within you
He is with you, He is with you
In the morning, in the evening
In your coming, and your going
In your weeping, and rejoicing
He is for you, He is for you
He is for you, He is for you
He is for you, He is for you
He is for you, He is for you
Amen, amen, amen
I pray this for you!
Rain. Rain. And more rain!
Blessings upon blessings upon blessings.
I pray it rains so hard that you cannot see!
